JaCorey Shepherd

Ah yes, the darling of the 2015 offseason.

JaCorey Shepherd was regarded by many as being the steal of the draft last season prior to tearing his ACL in training camp, ending his rookie season before it even began.

Here’s what Pro Football Focus had to say about Shepherd:

"Shepherd’s 38.6% catch rate last season was the lowest in the entire FBS and his 53.0 quarterback rating against was also in the top 10. A receiver early in his career at Kansas, Shepherd might have the best ball skills of any corner in the draft. His 14 combined interceptions and pass breakups were the most in the Power 5."

If Shepherd can fully recover from his ACL injury, he may still be able to compete for a critical role in the Eagles’ secondary.

But that’s a big “if.”

The Eagles have a solid amount of talent in their secondary and Shepherd may have an uphill battle making the roster in 2016.
