Kenjon Barner

Barner is a complete wild card. For his entire career, he has been nothing more than a change-of-pace back. But thanks to the Eagles’ poor groups of running backs, some believe Barner could compete for the starting job in training camp.

I am not one of those people.

One of the reasons Barner made the Eagles’ roster in 2015 was because of his relationship to Chip Kelly, who coached Barner for four years at Oregon. Had it not been for Chip, Barner may not have had a job.

While Barner does bring solid return ability and elusiveness to the table, he does not have the size or strength to be a legitimate option for the Eagles.

And let’s not forget about undrafted rookie Byron Marshall, who could be a weapon for the Eagles.

Barner is a competitor, but this may be a little too much for him to handle.
