Fletcher Cox – Defensive End/Tackle

When mentioning blue-chip guys it’s hard to overlook the anchor on defense, Fletcher Cox.  Defensive lineman are constantly increasing in value around the NFL, and if you look at the contracts that have been handed out this season, you can make an argument that players like Cox are rated nearly as high as quarterbacks.

More from Inside the Iggles

The NFL Network’s Top 100 rated Cox 49th overall after his 2015/16 campaign, Pro Football Focus rated Cox 21 spots higher at 28th overall. Those numbers put Fletcher Cox in the crème de la crème of defensive linemen in the league at this point in time.

Switching to a 4-3 defense scheme in the off-season and bringing in Jim Schwartz as defensive coordinator is only going to increase Cox’s value. Going back to a scheme that allows him to get after the quarterback is going to increase his production which, mind you, is already extremely impressive.

He’s the MVP of the Eagles defense and, arguably, the entire Eagles roster, and there’s no doubting fans are happy to see locked up for years to come.
