Training Camp: 5 Philadelphia Eagles To Watch
By Tom Ignudo
Sam Bradford
Even though the Eagles leap frogged their way up the draft boards in April to select Carson Wentz with No. 2 overall pick, Bradford is the guy. Pederson said it earlier this off-season and reiterated that again on Monday in his press conference.
While Pederson said Wentz will be inactive week one against the Browns, he didn’t rule out that Wentz could be redshirted for the entire season. The coach can say whatever he wants, but the media and fans will always ask the questions about when may Wentz play. The only thing that truly prevents that from happening is for Bradford to perform well on the field.
It’s early, but according to reports from beat writers, Bradford is clearly the better quarterback as of right now. If Wentz starts to make heads spin and Bradford regresses, expect a repeat of 1999.
