5 reasons the Philadelphia Eagles will make the playoffs in 2017

Better wide receivers
The Eagles had arguably the worst receiving corps in the NFL last season. Aside from Jordan Matthews, Carson Wentz had basically no receivers to rely upon. Nelson Agholor had another disastrous season, Dorial Green-Beckham was more concerned with nightlife than football and Paul Turner, despite being the darling of the Eagles fan base, turned out to be a complete dud.
This season is going to be much different, though. The Eagles made it their mission to surround Wentz with weapons and they did so by signing former Chicago Bears wideout Alshon Jeffery. The 6’3″, 218-pound receiver is an elite playmaker who should flourish with Wentz in Philadelphia.
Along with Jeffery, the Eagles also added former San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens receiver Torrey Smith. Despite having a pair of disappointing seasons in San Fran, Smith was one of the league’s top young receivers during his time in Baltimore. If he can replicate what he was able to do with the Ravens, the Eagles will have a dynamic one-two punch in Jeffery and Smith.
