8. Agholor beats the Giants secondary for a 40-yard touchdown.

Agholor’s illegal formation was a microcosm of the tough season he had in 2016. There were dropped passes, and there was a reception in Arlington against the Dallas Cowboys that was waved off because he stepped out of bounds prior to catching the ball. He made statements about “being in his own head”. We’ve already mentioned the costly penalty in Seattle. Eagles fans can be tough sometimes. We all know that, but something’s been lost in the reputation of the fans who support this team. The fans are truly supportive of their guys.

Philly’s relationship with Agholor evolved from hope to trepidation to anger and, eventually, landed in the concern category. He had been forgiven for the mishaps and the bobbled balls, and everyone just wanted to see something good happen for the kid. During a Thursday night game against the Giants, something finally did.

He lined up on the right side of the formation, ran a deep crossing route and Wentz found him for forty yards.

Agholor had two touchdown receptions in 2017. The first was a bomb down the right sideline where he beat Joe Haden, one of the league’s best, in week one, and the other saw him race into the left side of the end zone on the opposite side of the field. It was good to see and good for his confidence. We’ll all be hoping for more of those moments in 2017.
