The Eagles are officially at a 90-man roster thanks to the signing of Tay Glover-Wright to a one-year deal.

It looks like the Philadelphia Eagles are not finished with bringing in new talent just yet. Just as we expected. The Eagles finally brought in a new cornerback after it was announced that they were looking for help at the position. On Monday, they announced that they would be signing former Indianapolis Colts corner, Tay Glover-Wright.

Wright is a 25-year-old cornerback who came into the league undrafted in 2014. He attended Utah State where he played not one, but three different positions. He was a quarterback, wide receiver and safety. It wasn’t until he joined the Atlanta Falcons where he converted to the cornerback position. Since signing with the Falcons, Wright also played for the Green Bay Packers practice squad and the Indianapolis Colts.

The signing of Wright is a bit confusing despite the fact that the Eagles need immediate help at the position. In his two years in the NFL, he only managed to play in two regular season games in 2015. In those two games, he didn’t register a single stat. It is unclear whether the Eagles brought him in to use as an extra body or if they plan on keeping him around for regular season games.

When the Eagles signed former Colts cornerback, Patrick Robinson he was expected to come and serve as the veteran leader for one season. After just the first week of training camp, Robinson’s production has made it hard to call him a lock to make this roster. The Eagles were expected to bring in some more veteran help for the young corners, but Wright is not who most expected to be the choice.

At this time, there are no indications on whether the Eagles are negotiating for another cornerback, but it is clear that they might be making another signing soon. They shot down rumors of bringing former Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis last week, but there are still a couple other cornerbacks on the market they could be talking to.
