Playing the devils advocate again:

Roseman and Joe Douglas just spent two high picks on cornerbacks everyone hopes plays a viable part in the Eagles’ future. Everyone hopes Sidney Jones can recover from a torn Achilles and meet his draft potential (he was once seen in some circles as a top-ten pick). Then, there’s the hope that third-round pick Rasul Douglas can be the ball hawking corner he was at West Virginia. He led the NCAA with eight interceptions in 2016. In the future, the Eagles may not really need Darby.

Mills is only in his second season and for a seventh-round pick, “Mr. Finger Waggin” Mills showed a lot in his rookie season and he’s improved significantly over the course of the most recent off-season. Mills could play in the slot, but now, a new question has come up. With Darby in the fold, does Douglas even have a shot at playing on the outside?

Side note: The Eagles also gave up a 2018 third round pick so now the team doesn’t have a second or third round pick in the next NFL Draft.
