As mentioned earlier, the Redskins have been a thorn in the Eagles craw for quite some time now. The Eagles keep losing to their rivals from the nation’s capital, and they typically look terrible when they do so. Still, despite the fact it’s seemed as though Philly’s had no answers for the ‘Skins, this may be the year that the gap lessens a little.
Sure, wide receiver Jamison Crowder, who’s been a problem, is now joined by Terrelle Pryor on the outside, but the Eagles have done all that they can to strengthen the cornerback position by adding all of the new talent they’ve added, particularly Ronald Darby. The Eagles traded wide receiver Jordan Matthews to the Buffalo Bills to acquire Darby for games like this one.
The offensive line is better, and Philly’s upgraded at the skill positions. There are weapons all along the defensive front, and one of the focal points will be obvious. The Eagles will need to break this recent habit the Eagles have developed of making Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins look like Joe Montana. The Eagles play the Redskins twice every year, and the second time they do it in 2017 will be on Monday Night Football on October 23rd.
Look for them to hang one in the win column at the end of that one.
