Before the preseason, I’d be able to say that the Redskins would win this game, and with confidence. Now, I have serious doubts about this team’s ability to start out strong and hold off the Eagles. The team was sloppy in early action this year, and I think it’ll take them a few weeks to truly find a rhythm (as it always does).
I want the Redskins to win, but all the factors adding up favor an Eagles’ victory. Cousins has been off. His receivers don’t have chemistry with him yet. There are many new starters on defense. They’ll need some time to adjust. Then, there’s the fact that the Redskins play in the trenches this preseason was downright depressing.
The reasons go on and on. In the end, I see the Eagles jumping ahead early, and although the Redskins might rally in the second half and find their niche, they aren’t ready to win this one. Not yet.
I see the Eagles winning this one with a final score of 26 to 24.
