ITI: What are your expectations for this one?

Cat Crave:

I feel like both teams remain unsure of their long-term capabilities but are looking at Thursday’s game as a good barometer for their expectations. Both have seemingly passed every test only to be faced with another challenge. Philadelphia won a tough divisional game on the road to open the year, followed with a loss to an undefeated Kansas City Chiefs team and then won another key NFC East matchup. They then traveled across the country and avoided let downs against the Los Angeles Chargers. Then, there was their victory last week over the Arizona Cardinals.

Carolina traveled across the country to open the year in San Francisco before battling a better than expected Buffalo Bills team to a victory at home. They lost to New Orleans but rebounded with extremely difficult road games at New England and Detroit.

One positive for Panthers fans is the combined record for Philadelphia’s opponents is 10-14, or 5-14 minus Kansas City, the only team they’ve played with a winning record. On the other hand, Carolina has beaten Buffalo, Detroit and New England – all with winning records.

Coming off a short week, I don’t expect a particularly clean or exceptional game from either team, but I believe Carolina finds a way to win at home, 27-20.
