Philadelphia Eagles 2017 NFL Draft mid season grades
Mack Hollins, WR, 4th Round.
Perhaps one of the best value picks this offseason for the Eagles. Mack Hollins has been quite the addition to the team this season. When he was drafted with the 118th overall pick, he was expected to be a major addition to the special teams. So far, Hollins has yet to disappoint the fan base.
His play on special teams has been phenomenal, to say the least. With veteran Chris Maragos done for the season, it felt like the Eagles would take a hit on punt coverage. But with Hollins out there, it doesn’t feel like the special teams missed a step. Lets not slight his work at wide receiver, though either. He currently has eight receptions for 164 yards and a touchdown.
His numbers are pretty impressive considering he’s only seen about 10-percent of snaps at wide receiver. As Hollins improves, the Eagles will slowly ease him into playing more. It is clear that they are in no rush to force him in on offense, but as time progresses he will likely get more opportunities. But for now, Hollins is well worth a fourth-round pick.
