1. The Eagles held joint practices with the Dolphins for a week, leading up to the second preseason game of the year, and had plenty of time to study him.

Remember how cool we thought that joint practice idea was? Well, this trade adds even more of twist to things. Those practices and the subsequent preseason game that followed gave Mr. Roseman, head coach Doug Pederson and his coaches an bird’s-eye view (pun intended) of the talented Miami Dolphins ball carrier.

Apparently, he’s been on the Eagles radar ever since, and when Roseman found his opportunity, he swooped in (another pun that was also intended). It was too good of an opportunity to pass up.

2. Adam Gase was, clearly, frustrated with what was going on with his offensive unit.

Dolphins head coach Adam Gase never really warmed up to Ajayi. At one point, he even deactivated him for a broken-down Arian Foster. Gase, clearly frustrated with his offense, took a shot at his running game in a press conference recently. His statements were clearly directed at Ajayi. There’s just one question.

Regardless of how frustrated you are, it doesn’t make any sense to get rid of your best players on the offensive side of the ball if you’re hoping to improve the offense (they’re also shopping Jarvis Landry). Well, that’s not really the Eagles problem is it?
