Lane Johnson has been having a solid season. He had a lot of work to do in order to make up for the time that he lost last season due to suspension. Now with Jason Peters out on the left side, Johnson needs to do everything in his power to not let anyone on the right side get to his quarterback.

That means Denver’s top pass rusher, Von Miller needs to be shut down. Without Peters on the field, Johnson is easily the most talented blocker on the offensive line. He is expected to be the reason why Carson Wentz feels comfortable and protected in the pocket. Unfortunately, Johnson did not have a good game last week. Against a tough San Francisco 49ers front, Johnson looked the sloppiest he’s ever been.

This week, Johnson needs to make a complete transformation and keep Miller out of the backfield. As long as Johnson and the Eagles can contain the pass rush, the offense shouldn’t have too much of an issue putting up points on the board. But if Johnson comes out as sloppy as last week, Carson Wentz could be in some trouble.
