When the 2017 season is all said and done, Nelson Agholor’s third-season will be a feel-good story. Let’s face it, the Eagles fan base has crushed Agholor for his first couple of seasons in the NFL. Clearly, it had something to do with him not living up to his first-round expectations, but Agholor has struggled more than anyone over the last couple of seasons.

Having 648 yards for three touchdowns in two years is nowhere near ideal for a 20th overall pick. Things got so bad for Agholor in year two that the team had to actually deactivate him for a game because he was drained mentally. His football struggles were causing the fan base to get into his head and things got so bad that he couldn’t cancel out the crowd noise.

After a long offseason, Agholor tuned out the crowd noise and worked hard to get back on track. As the Eagles brought in some veteran help at receiver, the attention was taken off Agholor. Once the Eagles stuck Agholor in the slot position, he soared. 428 yards and five touchdowns later and Agholor has actually become a crowd favorite. Although he may never look like a first-round pick, his major improvement will be good enough for the team.
