ITI: The ‘Hawks are without Richard Sherman, Cliff Avril and Kam Chancellor. Earl Thomas is aging. Is “The Legion of Boom” now crumbling? Is it the end of an era and time to go in another direction?

12th Man Rising: I’d say the “Legion of Boom” is retooling. Cliff Avril is likely done with football, and it’s looking more likely that Kam Chancellor may be as well. Whether they bring back Richard Sherman next year depends a lot on Kam. If it isn’t next season, it will be 2019. They like what they have in Shaquill Griffin, but Jeremy Lane clearly isn’t the answer.

I see the Seahawks going in another direction as far as specific personnel over the next two seasons, but the philosophy and type of players will remain the same. Tarvarus McFadden from Florida State looks like a great fit and would likely be available to continue the retrofit of ‘LOB 2.0’.
