ITI: Last season, Pete Carroll apparently hid an injury Sherman played with all season. Did that lead to further injury this season? What are your thoughts and the average Seahawks fan’s thoughts on Richard Sherman?

12th Man Rising: The average Seahawks fan thoughts on Richard Sherman is he’s as close to perfect as you can get on the field. Many wish he wasn’t quite as vocal as he is. That’s true. I love the fact that a bright, articulate man isn’t afraid to speak his mind on the issues, and that includes whether or not Michael Crabtree is mediocre at best.

As for the injury, no, I don’t think it contributed to his Achilles tear. Sherman said himself he knew it was going to pop sometime, but that’s this season, not last. Finally, the Seahawks are hardly the first team to hide an injury. If the player is fit enough to play, it makes zero sense to wave a red flag and say, “hey, he’s even more banged up than you can tell from looking at him”. Yes, that’s the league rule, but it’s ignorant.
