Philadelphia Eagles: 5 players that shined in Super Bowl LII
Brandon Graham, DE
Add Brandon Graham to the list of players that Eagles fans did not appreciate in 2016. Graham is infamous for blocking his doubters on Twitter, and he sure blocked a lot of people before the 2017 season. Apparently, his sack numbers just weren’t up to par in the fans standard. But now it is time to recognize just how good Brandon Graham is.
He finished out the Super Bowl with only two tackles. Not really a big deal obviously. But his strip sack on Tom Brady was perhaps the biggest play of the night when it was all said and done. The Patriots offensive line contained the Eagles front four as good as anyone on Sunday. But when it mattered most, Graham made it count.
To avoid any fourth-quarter comebacks by one of the best quarterbacks in the game, Graham smacked the ball out of Brady’s hands before he could get another throw off. And right in the presence of the pocket was the rookie, Derek Barnett.
Next: The Eagles did not forget about Jon Dorenbos
The play not only gave the Eagles the ball back, but it put them in perfect field position to grab another three points before giving the Patriots the ball back. The bottom line is that Graham made the biggest play of the game at the perfect time and for that they are Super Bowl Champions. That play alone probably had Howie Roseman pulling out his checkbook to get an extension ready.
