Philadelphia Eagles: 5 Players that could be released in 2018
Vinny Curry, DE
Believe it or not, Vinny Curry’s contract is top-five on the Eagles roster. After his big season in 2014 that featured 19 total tackles and nine sacks, he got his big break with a five-year deal close to 50 million dollars. But you know what they say, some players get lazy after they make their money doing their dream job. Now we can’t really say if Curry got lazy or not, but he definitely did not put up the type of numbers that the Eagles desired.

In the three seasons following 2014, Curry totaled the same amount sacks that he did in his career year. Although he looked a lot better in 2017, he still didn’t reach the expectations that the Eagles had for him when they decided to lock him in long-term.
After splitting snaps with Derek Barnett all season, Curry’s chances of getting released look a lot more realistic. The fact is that Barnett issues a ton of value moving forward with his playmaking abilities that change the game. The Eagles could save up to five million if they decide to move on from Curry this offseason.
