Defensive MVP: Brandon Graham

Regular Season Stats: 47 total tackles, 9.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, 1 touchdown

Postseason Stats: 4 total tackles, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble

Brandon Graham is the 2017 Defensive MVP and now everyone has forgotten that Earl Thomas was drafted after him. In all seriousness, Graham came into 2017 with great expectations and lived up to those on a consistent basis. Graham led a stacked defensive line (and defense) in sacks which is impressive given the talent and how much the defensive line rotated. He was successful both outside and inside as a pass rusher and created mismatches against slower guards.

Some of the best things that Graham did this year did not show up on the stat sheet. Graham was always collapsing the pocket and forcing quarterbacks to either step up or throw in traffic. He was rarely out of position in the run game and helped set the edge for a defense that was one of the best against the rush. The fact that he had the key strip-sack of Tom Brady in the Super Bowl was just the icing on the cake. As with the Offensive MVP, there were multiple players that could have been listed here (Fletcher Cox, Malcolm Jenkins, even Patrick Robinson). As deserving as those guys may have been, Graham stood out just a little bit more.
