Roquan Smith, Georgia

Roquan Smith is entering the draft out of his junior season with the Georgia Bulldogs. The quick-footed linebacker had a tremendous final season with the Bulldogs. He finished out the final season of his college career with 137 total tackles, 14 of which were tackles for a loss. Smith shouldn’t be limited to just incredible tackle numbers for a linebacker, he was even able to put solid defensive end numbers in his sack total with 6.5.

Just like many other prospects that head into the draft though, Smith has some question marks around his size. His 6’1″ height and 225-pound weight have many NFL scouts labeling him as undersized. Fortunately enough for Smith, his speed makes up for everything that he may lack in desired NFL size.

Smith has excellent instincts on the field and could really do some damage in the NFL. If the Eagles are on the lookout for another linebacker similar to Mychal Kendricks, Smith could be that guy. He is quick on his feet and could shut down the short passing game really well, which is something the Eagles struggled with throughout the 2017 season.

There’s a good chance that Smith gets snagged before pick number 32. But just in case he somehow drops to the end of the round, he could definitely be in play for the Birds.
