Philadelphia Eagles: A final look at the Nick Foles revenge tour
Foles’ closes out the winning game against the Rams.
Back in December, Nick Foles was set to take on the same team that benched and released him after just one season. Although he wasn’t expecting to play in that game, Foles would have to come in and close out what Carson Wentz had already started.
Now, this wasn’t exactly the St. Louis Rams coached by Jeff Fisher. But it was the same franchise that decided he would not be moving forward with them when they relocated to Los Angeles. When the Rams initially traded for Foles, they were expecting him to be the breadwinner of the franchise. Obviously, things didn’t work out that way.
Foles entered late into the game after Wentz suffered his torn ACL. He didn’t necessarily do anything spectacular, but he did everything he needed to do to put away the win and secure the NFC East. When Wentz went down and was announced to be out for the game, no one expected Foles to be able to close out the shootout that was going down. But he did, and the Eagles took home the 43-35 victory after a long two weeks on the West Coast.
