Philadelphia Eagles: A final look at the Nick Foles revenge tour
Foles’ wins the Super Bowl!
Now, the most recent and most important part of the revenge tour. Nick Foles leads the Eagles to win the first Super Bowl in franchise history. Not only did he hoist the Lombardi trophy for the first time, but he took down the MVP award, too. Aside from an interception that he wasn’t necessarily responsible for, Foles played lights out in Super Bowl LII.
Just like they have been the entire season, the Eagles were doubted heading into the big game. Everybody expected the Eagles defense the be the difference maker on the biggest stage in football, but the situation ended up being completely different.
Nick Foles won a shootout with arguably the best quarterback to play the game of football. Foles might not have outdueled Tom Brady on the stat sheet, but he did more than enough on offense for the Eagles to dethrone the 2016 Super Bowl Champions. Now with his newfound stardom, Foles may end up being one of the more intriguing trade prospects during the offseason, and it is well-deserved.
With the revenge tour officially being complete, Foles may get his second shot at being a full-time starting quarterback in the NFL. There’s no telling if he will be in Philadelphia beyond 2017 or not, but we are glad we got to witness him leave his mark in Eagles history. The 2017 Nick Foles comeback story may go down as one of the greatest when it’s all said and done.
