Alshon Jeffery: The Number One

We heard a bunch of negativity surrounding the signing of Alshon Jeffery during the 2017 offseason. He gets hurt too much, he can’t help but get suspended, he isn’t an actual number one. But despite all of the negative energy coming from outside of the Eagles organization, Jeffery continued to silence the critics as the 2017 season went on.

His critics did get on thing right, though. Jeffery was battling a shoulder injury since early on. But it didn’t seem to faze him at all. In fact, Jeffery went on to play the entire season with a torn rotator cuff that nobody outside of the Eagles organization had any knowledge of. And not only did he play through an injury, but he also dominated in his Super Bowl debut.

It’s evident that the Eagles can succeed with Alshon Jeffery as the number one target on the team. Looking at his total of 789 yards from the regular season, Jeffery is no killer in the yardage game. But does that honestly matter at the end of the day? He totaled for nine touchdowns in 16 games, along with three scores in the postseason. So the critics can laugh all they want about yards, but Jeffery knows how to find the end zone. Whether it’s the regular season or the playoffs, Jeffery steps up and puts fear into secondaries.
