Darius Leonard, South Carolina St.

Darius Leonard didn’t have the most natural ride to the NFL. Coming from a MEAC school like South Carolina State made it very difficult for him to stand out amongst other NFL prospects. When a prospect’s real talent is evident, though, it won’t matter eventually. Leonard made himself known to NFL organizations to be a second or third-round pick potentially.

The Eagles brought Leonard to Philadelphia to work out. They may not have a second or third round pick at the moment, but a little draft day transaction could change that. Leonard bulked up when he arrived at South Carolina State, and now he needs guidance from NFL coaches to utilize his size to its real potential.

Leonard’s versatility as a linebacker is sure to make him stand out. He can play as an outside linebacker, or switch to an edge rusher depending on the formation. NFL scouts considered him a good worker and a good learner, but he is definitely going to be a project at the next level.
