Daurice Fountain, WR, Northern Iowa

Round 6, Pick 206

Unlike the majority of the Eagles current wide receivers, Daurice Fountain comes from an unknown school out in Northern Iowa. As the years pass on, the Eagles still have yet to find their long-term speedster, so they may look to fill that void with Fountain. Sure, the Eagles drafted Shelton Gibson around this time last year, but the former Mountaineer was far from impressive during his rookie season.

Fountain would be issued a similar opportunity that Gibson had in 2017. He could either prove his worth as a speedy receiver or find out that he could only contribute to the team on special teams. Either way, Fountain has the Eagles interested in his services. Earlier last month, the NIU receiver had a private workout with the Eagles that didn’t garner a ton of buzz.

Just like any other sixth-round pick, Fountain is not a sure thing to make the roster. There could be some question marks around his skill set and whether he would be able to make it in the NFL or not. Considering that the caliber of defensive backs that he played against in college aren’t exactly top recruits, he could have a hard time finding separation against NFL secondaries.
