Jeremy Reaves, S, Southern Alabama

Jeremy Reaves is a wildcard selection with the 250-overall pick. The cornerback-turned-safety has a wide variety of talents on defense. Reaves isn’t exactly a master of his craft, but he is a jack of all trades. He could fill in on the outside at the cornerback position, or even slide into the nickel. But Reaves and his coaches at Southern Alabama decided that he was a better fit at the safety position in 2017.

Reaves sort of resembles Eagles safety Rodney McLeod in a way with the level of intensity that he plays with. He may not be the most polished safety as he is still learning the position, but he does have killer instincts and knows how to produce at a high level on defense.

Reaves’ versatility makes him an exciting prospect for the Eagles. As they do lack safety depth at the moment, they are also on the hunt for a cornerback who can slide into the slot and play nickel. Reaves would get a fair shot at picking up some part-time snaps on gameday if he could win over the position in training camp. This pick could pay off tremendously in the long run for the Eagles.
