Jordan Mailata, OT

Round 7, Pick 233

For those of you who are unaware of Jordan Mailata’s football skills, no worries. Mailata has never played a snap of football in his life. The Australian Rugby star recently caught the attention of NFL scouts over the offseason as a potential prospect. Many teams worked him out, and apparently, the Eagles were very interested in his potential. Hence why they traded up to select him in the seventh round.

Mailata is a 6’8″ beast with excellent athleticism. Clearly, size is the last of his issues heading into offseason workouts. There is no doubt that Mailata is going to be a project this season. With no football background at all, he has to do a lot more preparation than the other rookie prospects heading into their first NFL training camp.

As of right now, it is hard to grade this selection. We only heard of Mailata a few weeks back and didn’t really know if the Eagles were serious about spending a draft pick on him or not. While this pick definitely has us intrigued, we won’t honestly know if it was worth it or not. Only time will tell, and we will see in the preseason.

Grade: N/A
