Nnamdi Asomugha, CB

Would this really be a list of failed free agent signings if we didn’t mention the infamous Nnamdi Asomugha? It really wouldn’t. Unlike Randle, Asomugha is utterly despised in Philadelphia. There can never be a single flashback conversation with an Eagles fan without hearing about how frustrated they were with Nnamdi Asomugha’s two-year stint in the midnight green.

When Asomugha signed with the Eagles, head coach Andy Reid assured the fan base that they were hosting one of the best cornerbacks in all of football. Unfortunately, Asomugha’s best days with the Oakland Raiders were far behind him.

Asomugha reeled in the big bucks when he signed with the Eagles for $60 million over five years, with $25 million guaranteed. To say that the team overvalued him is an understatement. After the second year, the Eagles decided it was re-structure or take a walk. Asomugha decided to take a walk and play out his final season elsewhere.
