Richard Rodgers, TE

Richard Rodgers is a young tight end who just wrapped up his first four seasons with the Green Bay Packers. Rodgers isn’t a bad player, but his numbers aren’t desirable on paper. Especially being that he just played with the other Rodgers who just so happens to be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.

Recently, the Eagles lost Trey Burton to free agency and decided to cut ties with Brent Celek to free up some cap space. So it was clear the Eagles were going to bring in a guy like Rodgers to fill that void. But somewhere down the line, the plans changed. The Eagles decided that with their newly acquired second-round pick they would take South Dakota’s Dallas Goedert.

Does the selection of Goedert mean that Rodgers is good as gone? Absolutely not. But Rodgers’ chances of making the team went from a lock to a question mark. With second-year veteran Billy Brown showing a ton of upside, and Adam Zaruba still around, Rodgers needs to earn that third spot over the summer.
