Nate Sudfeld, QB

The Eagles quarterback situation is kind of crazy for having their clear-cut franchise guy on board for the future. Despite losing Wentz late in the season, the Eagles still managed to get excellent play from under center in Nick Foles. And right behind him supporting was young Nate Sudfeld holding the clipboard.

Sudfeld only had the chance to play in one game on the Eagles last year. That is including preseason as well. Heading into 2018, we all thought that Sudfeld pretty much has the third-string spot on the depth chart in the bag, but recent moves make us think again. Just a few weeks back, the Eagles signed former Packers backup Joe Callahan to not one, but a two-year deal.

So that move could mean one or two things. One is that the Eagles could potentially trade Foles at some point early on. Or two being that Sudfeld’s spot on the roster is not safe. He might’ve received some massive praise from his coaches last year, but when it came to game time, he didn’t make much of a difference. We know he’s only a backup, but backups in Philly have to prove a lot nowadays. Just look at Super Bowl MVP, Nick Foles.
