Vikings hired former Eagles quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo.

After the New York Giants hired former Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur as their new head coach, the Vikings needed a new offensive coordinator. So they hired the former Eagles quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo during the offseason.

DeFilippo has helped transform Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz into the player he is today. While Wentz had a successful rookie season, his best season came this past season. He was on pace to win MVP until he suffered a torn ACL.

Eagles fans are not looking forward to being without DeFilippo. And they definitely aren’t looking forward to seeing him on the Vikings sideline. So, this could cause some tension between the two teams, if there wasn’t enough tension already.

If the Eagles are expected to have any rivals this upcoming season, the Vikings are definitely front-runners. Maybe not for the teams. But certainly for the fans. Because these fans just don’t like each other. The Vikings will have a chance at revenge this season. The two teams will compete in a rematch in week five. The game is scheduled for 4:25 pm EST. on October 7th.
