Ronald Darby, CB

Ronald Darby hasn’t been with the Eagles for long. In fact, around this time last year, he was still a question mark in the Buffalo Bills defense. The young 24-year-old cornerback is still trying to figure things out in the NFL to the fullest. Although he had an impressive rookie season, followed by a decent Sophomore effort, Darby still isn’t considered one of the NFL’s best.

When the Eagles traded for Darby, he was undoubtedly the best cornerback on the roster in the summertime. But it didn’t take long for the young defensive back to get overshadowed when he suffered a dislocated ankle in the first half of week one against the Washington Redskins.

As Darby fought back to even strength later on in the season, he caught some massive amounts of criticism. He seemed to get toasted in coverage often and left a bad taste in Eagles fans mouth after he struggled in Super Bowl LII against the New England Patriots.

A full offseason with the Eagles and a contract year for Darby could really play a huge role in the veterans comeback season. Does he have a long-term future in the midnight green? We’re not so sure, but we do know one thing. Darby is only going to get better this season.
