DeVante Bausby, CB

Last year, the Eagles cornerbacks looked atrocious in training camp. This year, there’s non-stop battles for one of the three open positions. While Ronald Darby, Jalen Mills, and Sidney Jones duke it out for a starting position on the outside, another young cornerback popped up on the impression chart this week.

We’re sure you have heard of DeVante Bausby now if you follow the Eagles closely. If you haven’t, no worries. Here is some quick background on him. Bausby is a six-foot-one cornerback who has sported a different uniform every season since his start in 2015. Although Bausby currently sits on the Eagles roster bubble, he has really turned heads at OTAs so far.

Bausby got his shot at nickel cornerback this week. And almost every reporter in attendance had something positive to say about him. But the opinion’s of the writer’s isn’t what made him stand out. It was the praise by his defensive coordinator, Jim Schwartz. Not only did Schwartz talk up Bausby’s skills on the field. But he also had a ton to say about his effort, leadership, and knowledge of the game.
