LaRoy Reynolds

Like Hill and Nelson, LaRoy Reynolds is an outside linebacker known primarily for his special teams play. Signed in free agency this offseason, the former Atlanta Falcons linebacker was brought in almost solely for his special teams ability.

The rest of the NFL has feared special-teams coordinator Dave Fipp’s unit for quite some time the last few seasons. He’s carefully crafted his squad, defined a specific role for each player and turned special teams into a weapon.

The signing of Reynolds was no accident. Past and present Eagles such as Trey Burton, the aforementioned Hill, current special teams captain Chris Maragos, Bryan Braman and Najee Goode are and were just a few examples of players who have been brought in to fill these roles.

Presently, given the circumstances, Reynolds now find himself it in the thick of the position battle and may end up finding himself starting at the position opening night against his former team, if he plays his cards right.
