Philadelphia Eagles have an interesting battle at weak side linebacker
Undrafted Rookies
Rounding out the team’s linebacker room for training camp are undrafted rookies Asantay Brown from Western Michigan and Kyle Wilson of the University of Houston. The Eagles signed Wilson in the aftermath of the Worrilow injury. Brown, who’s only about 215 pounds, might make a run at playing safety.
The late Pat Tillman was discovered in using this same method, and had a nice career with the Arizona Cardinals.
Replacing Kendricks won’t be an easy task for anyone. Also, while we’re discussing the linebackers, it needs to be remembered that strong side linebacker Nigel Bradham will be serving his one game suspension on opening night against the Falcons.
That makes this battle all the more important. It kind of feels like filling both starting outside linebacker jobs is a priority. There are, currently, two vacancies to fill for opening night. Who chooses to step up isn’t for anyone to decide except for the guys on the roster.
It’s not time to be nervous, it’s time to be excited about seeing if a potential new star rises from the ashes of these hungry dogs in the ‘City of Brotherly Love’.
