Mack Hollins, WR

Does anybody remember Mack Hollins? I’m just asking because he hasn’t really been mentioned at all this offseason. As much as it pains me to say this, it really sounds like Hollins has been somewhat of a disappointment this offseason. Last year, we saw some tremendous upside from the former fourth-round pick. This year, we are experiencing what some may call a Sophomore slump.

So Hollins wasn’t exactly a number one target last year, but he did create some decent opportunities for himself throughout the year. This season, we are expecting a significant step for Hollins as he picks up more snaps with Torrey Smith out of the picture. And with Jeffery currently being out, Hollins would most likely become the next man up in his position. Right now though, the shoes look too big to fill.

This week, we need to see something out of Hollins. He will have Foles in the pocket to start off the game, so it would be nice to see Hollins get a target or two. As of right now, the confidence in the receiving core can’t be too high. So Hollins’ preseason performances need to reassure the Eagles that they are okay with their young guys and that they don’t need to make any panic signings over the next few weeks.
