Philadelphia Eagles: 5 players to watch against the Cleveland Browns
Mike Wallace, WR
With Eagles veteran wide receiver Alshon Jeffery’s health being in question, Mike Wallace becomes the clear-cut number one receiver. The ten-year veteran has been put in this position before, but it’s been a while since he has looked like a number one wideout.
Wallace has spent the entire offseason with the Eagles, but he still doesn’t seem entirely comfortable in the offense as of right now. Granted, the offense looked terrible as a whole last week, but it’s not like Wallace has done much to get open in the secondary, either.
This week, the Eagles need to see something big from Wallace. We’re beginning to doubt Jeffery’s week one status, so things need to click with the quarterback’s and the receiver’s sooner than later. Wallace should get double the snap count this week, and we are expecting him to lead the Eagles in receptions through the first half of the game to feel confident with the current state of the wide receivers.
