Nick Foles, QB

While we’re on the topic of the passing game, let’s discuss Super Bowl MVP, Nick Foles. Last week, for lack of better words was ugly. Foles looked rusty and unprepared as the New England Patriots clearly brought him back down to earth in their Super Bowl revenge game. Now, we aren’t writing off Foles as a one-hit wonder with a hot playoff streak, but there is some concern if he can’t shake the rust off before September.

This week, Foles has practiced in full. With a little over a quarter of football under his belt for the preseason, he should be back in football shape. After all, he did miss a couple of weeks before last Thursday’s game, so the slow start makes sense.

Hopefully, the Eagles offensive line comes into Cleveland full force and gives Nick Foles an opportunity to make some plays. We’re not expecting to see an MVP-like performance, but the Eagles do need to develop a solid game flow this week in order to prepare themselves for the games that count.
