Halapoulivaati Vaitai, LT

Halapoulivaati Vaitai may be the most disappointing starter to return from last season. We all know Jason Peters takes the reins back in the regular season, but the struggles from Big V. have affected the Eagles offense as a whole this preseason. So, Nick Foles didn’t exactly have a great pocket presence last Thursday, but a lot of that could be pinned on the pressure that Vaitai caused with his weak blocking.

Having Vaitai as a backup is a sweet luxury, but the Eagles are trying to figure out if they need to find a long-term replacement for the future. There’s a good chance that Peters’ days are over beyond this season, and the front office won’t stick with Vaitai too long if his struggles are this apparent.

We need to see Big V. bounce back this week. We all know how excellent the Eagles offensive line can be when the games matter, so we aren’t the concerned with the overall outlook of the protection thus far. Right now, the biggest concern up front is whether Big V. has a future with the Eagles starting offensive lineman or not.
