2. Offensive Tackle

While everybody dreams of Le’Veon Bell and Amari Cooper in an Eagles uniform, I would say the biggest pipe dream is the Eagles trading for an offensive tackle. A solid offensive lineman just doesn’t come easy in the NFL nowadays. Having a strong unit up front is very difficult for front offices to put together.

Last season, the Eagles were very fortunate to have an offensive line that was clicking, even with injuries occurring. This season, it’s not the same. The Eagles brought back Jason Peters after he suffered a season-ending knee injury last year and it’s obvious that time is catching up with him. Also, Lane Johnson has been dealing with some problems of his own on the other side, and he hasn’t been up to par as well.

The pass protection has been awful by the Eagles offensive line. Keeping the pocket clean and Wentz protected should be the offenses number one priority, considering that they lost their franchise quarterback to a significant knee injury last year. So far, they have not done very well doing so. Are they going to trade for an offensive tackle? Probably not. But it is definitely a need, and a position they will have to focus on for the future when the 2019 NFL Draft comes closer.
