1. Safety

When Rodney McLeod got injured a few weeks back, everybody kind of shrugged it off. The Eagles still had Corey Graham in the mix and figured that he looked pretty solid at times last season. But then Graham ends up getting injured, and what do you know? The Eagles are trotting out a rookie cornerback to play safety.

Then, their nickel cornerback Sidney Jones gets hurt, and they are forced to move Avonte Maddox into his spot while putting Rasul Douglas in at safety. Fortunately, the Eagles were only playing the Giants when all of this happened. But if they are going to have that whacky look on defense moving forward against better teams, then they can be in some trouble.

I’d say that right now the Eagles should be in panic mode when it comes to the safety position. This secondary as a whole has been pretty bad this season. This isn’t time for experiments with young and inexperienced players.

Better offenses are going to continue to torch the Eagles defense if they do not make a change on the back end of the secondary. The Arizona Cardinals are shopping a couple of guys who could fill in better than Maddox or Douglas can, and the Eagles should be making a call very soon.
