Ronald Darby, CB

Ronald Darby has been wildly inconsistent this year. He’s had an okay game here and there, but there were two weeks this season where he has played lockdown defense. Week one against the Atlanta Falcons, and week six against the Giants. We know how good Darby can be. Now, we just want to see some consistency from him.

The Panthers offense doesn’t have a great passing attack. They are ranked 28th in total passing yards on the season. We know the Eagles secondary hasn’t been ideal, but maybe last week’s game was a major confidence booster.

If Darby can play as well as he did last week, then the sky is the limit for the Eagles defense. Considering that Darby is on the final year of his contract, his consistency is going to be essential when a new deal is being discussed at the end of the season.

There’s no telling if the Eagles are going to want him back or not, but if he wants to maximize his potential, he needs to start putting on a lot of performances similar to last week’s. Hopefully, Darby is still considered to be the hot hand at cornerback this week.
