The Entire Secondary on Defense

Heading into the season, the Eagles starting cornerbacks were Jalen Mills, Ronald Darby, and Sidney Jones. Now, going into Week 12, the starters are Chandon Sullivan, Cre’Von LeBlanc, and DeVante Bausby. Three guys who couldn’t make a final roster back in early September. We shouldn’t expect much out of this group this week, but it wouldn’t be right if we didn’t mention that the cornerbacks were vital to a win on Sunday.

Although the Eagles secondary has been struggling all season long, even with the starters in the picture, this will definitely be the worst that we have seen it. This week’s matchup will be against Odell Beckham, Sterling Shepard, Evan Engram, and Saquon Barkley. Four players who have had their way with the Eagles defense in the past.

If these guys can come out and play at least semi-decent, then the Eagles have a shot at winning. However, if we are going to see another offense hang over 40 points on the Eagles broken down secondary, then we can’t be all that confident in this one. It’s a tough scenario, but there really isn’t anything else that the Eagles could do at the position at this point.
