The Los Angeles Rams used the franchise tag on Joyner last season. There’s no word that they may do it again, but we’ll have to see. So far, his name has been linked to the Chicago Bears a couple of times.
Teddy Bridgewater, quarterback
Foles, as you know, is probably out. The Eagles are in love with Nate Sudfeld, but is he truly on the same level as Nick Foles? Philly may want to look at bringing another quarterback in though Bridgewater may not be that guy.
A once-promising career seems to now be in limbo as Bridgewater’s market may be cooling. He should get a shot to compete somewhere though. We just doubt that’s in Philly.
Preston Smith, linebacker
Smith keeps getting high marks from Pro Football Focus. His success has come playing in the 3-4 though. It doesn’t appear he’s on Philly’s radar either, unless they’re keeping it quiet.
Ezekiel Ansah, defensive end
Philly’s been interested in Ansah for a while, but they’ve never really pulled the trigger. With what might be a lower price tag, might this be the year they do so? They’ll need a pass rusher.
Daryl Williams, offensive tackle
Williams is one of the better offensive tackles in the free agency pool. He isn’t considered one of the premier prospects. He isn’t really in anyone’s top ten, but based on the position he plays, he could come with a higher price tag. Might Philly add him to replace an aging and expensive Jason Peters? We’ll have to wait and see.
