Cornerback (6)

The verdict: Ronald Darby, Sidney Jones, Rasul Douglas, Avonte Maddox, CreVon LeBlanc, Orlando Scandrick

The argument: We’ve all discussed Jalen Mills all Summer. When the regular season begins, he’ll be on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list. Philly can take their time with him for several reasons.

Avonte Maddox is amazing, and he, Rasul Douglas, and Sidney Jones are all having great camps. We learned that Cre’Von LeBlanc is a baller as well last season, but when the season begins, they may have to endure a stretch without him being available. For that reason, Philly added Orlando Scandrick and though he had some questionable moments, he’s better than Jeremiah McKinnon and Josh Hawkins.

Scandrick will be on the opening-day roster, but we may see his departure when Mills is ready. In the case of Mills, he’ll be playing for a new deal, but injuries and some rough spots a season ago could further the argument that the Eagles get him at a discount going forward.

Safety (4)

The verdict: Malcolm Jenkins, Rodney McLeod, Andrew Sendejo, Johnathan Cyprien

The argument: If Rodney McLeod is one-hundred percent, both he and Malcolm Jenkins could be the best safety tandem in the NFL. Sendejo has proven his mettle, and Johnathan Cyprien was a good pickup this preseason. These are the four guys Philly should field at safety.
