The verdict: Carson Wentz, Nate Sudfeld, Josh McCown

The argument: Despite breaking his wrist in the Eagles’ first preseason game, Nate Sudfeld is expected to return early in the regular season. Cody Kessler‘s concussion forced the Eagles to find some insurance at signal-caller.

They did so by signing veteran journeyman Josh McCown.

That, in effect, ends Kessler’s chances of making the roster as McCown is guaranteed $2 million with the opportunity to make over $5 million with the incentives he’s been given. That also means all roads for Clayton Thorson lead to the practice squad. We all know who the franchise is.

Big things are expected for ‘Mercedes Wentz’ in the regular season as he’ll be a preseason MVP candidate. The ‘Wentz Wagon’ figures to blaze a trail through the NFL all season.
