2. Once upon a time, there was a coach with connections to both franchises.

You’ve heard of Buddy Ryan, haven’t you? Yes, that Buddy Ryan. He was the defensive coordinator for the Oilers back in 1993, and he was just as much of a rabble-rouser back in those days as he was in any other era of his existence. To be honest, he may have been worse.

Ryan came into Philly with an idea. He was going to create the meanest defense in Eagles history, and he was going to ride that to a Super Bowl. Any time defense is brought up in Philly, Ryan’s thought about. Any time the disappointment of the1993 Oilers is brought up, Ryan gets some of the blame. In all honesty, he deserves it.
