As blasphemous as this sounds, close your eyes and pretend that Wentz played for the Cowboys.

This one hurts to type, but let’s do what’s been done for the majority of their careers. Let’s compare Dak Prescott to Carson Wentz. Let’s swap one jersey for another.

Here’s what isn’t said often but may be true. Prescott and Wentz are the same guys. Both are flawed. Both need perfect circumstances to win. Both are good with superior talent around them. Both see their production plummet when that isn’t the case. Both are superior athletes who can do things most quarterbacks in the NFL can’t. Both have a cannon for an arm.

Here’s the thing. Prescott has a better offensive line, better skill players, and a better team around him. Wentz has a better general manager and head coach. What Wentz doesn’t have is a quarterbacks coach. His receivers don’t have a capable wide receivers coach.

Let’s settle this once and for all. If Prescott was on the Eagles roster, he’d be experiencing the same issues that Wentz is. If Wentz was on the Cowboys roster, that team would look a tad better on offense. Wentz would have Ezekiel Elliott. Wentz would have Amari CooperMichael Gallup, and Randall Cobb, and everyone would be screaming that Wentz is better than Prescott, much like a ton of the public is saying that Prescott is better.
