3. John DeFilippo, currently the offensive coordinator of the Jags

Well, look guys! It’s John DeFilippo, a man who needs no introduction if you love the Eagles. Now, the Giants wouldn’t actually consider replacing one former Eagles assistant with another, would they? They absolutely could, and they absolutely might.

John DeFilippo made a ton of waves when he was the quarterback coach who helped groom Carson Wentz into a potential MVP candidate. The suitors came running, but interviews were blocked by Eagles CEO and Chairman Jeffrey Lurie.

Eventually, he wound up in the Vikings’ wheelhouse, but the arrangement didn’t work. For whatever reason, the Vikings’ offense floundered under DeFilippo, and he was fired after the Vikings lost by a score of 21–7 to the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football in week 14 of last season.

Since then, he’s landed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and though his former pupil Nick Foles has struggled, DeFilippo has to take some credit for the unexpected success we’ve seen from Gardner Minshew. Write his name down. He may be one to pay attention to.
